(before I knew we weren't doing video and no one would actually see me)
Prologue: What I Did For ME
- Overwhelmed
- Tired
- Like a train car flying off the tracks
- Like my heart hurts
- Peace
- Calm
- Relaxed
- Relieved
- Completed my final presentation of my Villanova career!
- Packed about 70% of my things
- Re-wrote "This is Halloween"
- Did a 30min "Boosted Walk"
- Had a very important phone call with my insurance agent regarding my move (oooh, Amy that's real facncy!)
- Chatted with an Xfinity representative about how I return my wireless router during a pandemic
- Wrote down that I need to notify my bank of my travel plans to prevent my card getting deactivated mid-travel
- Meditation -> Sleep
1. WE MADE IT TO MAY, FOLKS!
I think tomorrow MAY need to be spa day. Paint the nails, mask the face (with mud not cloth), and listen to some soothing music. I feel like I've been going 100 miles per hour in mind and spirit. It's crazy because it feels like nothing is going on and I shouldn't feel any pressure, but now that we are planning to leave the apartment on May 9th I feel like there is a lot I need to do to prepare. And for some reason I feel like it all has to be done in 24hrs. Not true, Amy.
2. The Cure
- Throat
- Probable Cause: Avenue of expression. Channel of creativity. The inability to speak up for one's self. Swallowed anger. Stifled creativity. Refusal to change.
- New Thought Pattern: I open my heart and sing the joys of love. It's okay to make noise. I express myself freely and joyously. I speak up for myself with ease. I express my creativity. I am willing to change.
- Sore Throat
- Probable Cause: Holding in angry words. Feeling unable to express the self.
- New Thought Pattern: I release all restrictions, and I am free to be me.
Also, I am afraid of being judged for my career choices by my friends and family (though they have given me no cause to feel this way). I am afraid to be myself. Because I'm afraid of who I might be. I want to be good, but I am complex. No one is perfect. I want to be what everyone wants me to be, but I also want to be happy and fulfilled and those things do not mix well.
So, I vow to make a change. To stand up and speak up for myself. To stop swallowing my anger and express what I need to when I need to. And I can still respect someone who disagrees with me, but I do need to have my say instead of swallowing my words in silence.
Parentals, if you're reading this, much love <3
3. Inspired by Real Events
My Adaption of "This Is Halloween"
Original Songwriters: Danny Elfman
Boys and girls of every age
Wouldn't you like to see something strange?
Stay at home and you will see
This, our life in Quarantine
This is Quarantine, this is Quarantine
Parents scream in the dead of night
This is Quarantine, everybody keep it clean
Wash and sanitize day and night
It's okay, everybody scream
In this state of Quarantine
I am the one hiding under my bed
Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red
I am the one hiding under my stairs
Fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair
This is Quarantine, this is Quarantine
Quarantine! Quarantine! Quarantine! Quarantine!
In this place we call home
Everyone please stay at home
In this home, can we leave it now?
Everybody's waiting for the next surprise
'Round that corner, germs hiding on the trash can
Something's waiting now to pounce, and how you'll
Scream: Stay away from me!
Red 'n' black, and slimy green
Aren't you scared?
Well, that's just fine
Say it once, say it twice
Take a chance and roll the dice
Ride with the moon in the dead of night
Everybody scream, everybody scream
In this state of Quarantine!
I am the clown with the smiley-face mask
Here in a flash and gone without a trace
I am the sneeze when you call, "Who's there?"
I am the germs blowing through your hair
I am the shadow on the moon at night
Filling your dreams to the brim with fright
This is Quarantine, this is Quarantine
Quarantine! Quarantine! Quarantine! Quarantine!
Quarantine! Quarantine!
Covid-19 everywhere
Life's no fun locked up in your house
That's our job, but we're not mean
In this state of Quarantine
In this home,
Can we leave it now?
Everybody's waiting for the next surprise
Coughing Jack might catch you in the back
And sneeze like a baby
Make you jump out of your skin
This is Quarantine, everybody scream
Won't ya please stay home for Quarantine
My friend Jack is King of the Covid snacks
Everyone please stay at home, now!
This is Quarantine, this is Quarantine
Quarantine! Quarantine! Quarantine! Quarantine!
In this place we call home
Everyone please stay at home
La la la la la la la la la la (Quarantine! Quarantine!)
